Tuesday, 17 November 2020 – 10am GMT

Without a doubt, there will be significant changes to company formations in the next five years, due to the proposed Government response to the Corporate Transparency and Register Reform consultation, and Louise Smyth’s recently published 2025 vision for Companies House.

But, what will these changes mean for start-up founders and essential business service providers, and what impact will they have on your business?

Richard Osborne, CEO at Business Data Group, invites you to find out in this engaging, interactive webinar at 10am GMT on Tuesday, 17 November 2020.

Louise Smyth, Companies House Chief Executive & Registrar of Companies for England and Wales, will be joining Richard for an open conversation about what these changes mean for Companies House, with its shift towards being data-centric, and the future of company formations.

With Q&A sessions, this promises to be an engaging and informative webinar where, as a registered participant, you will have the opportunity to ask Companies House the questions that are important to you and your business.

Electric Charge Points at Blisworth Hill Farm Business Park

Electric cars function by plugging into a charge point and taking electricity from the grid. They store the electricity in rechargeable batteries that power an electric motor, which turns the wheels. Electric cars accelerate faster than vehicles with traditional fuel engines – so they feel lighter to drive.

We understand the need to protect our environment and have acknowledged that more and more of our Tenants and their customers are investing in electric cars. We therefore wanted to add another level of service to the Business Park by offering Electric Car Charging Points.

We have 4 Chargers @ 22kw/ph and 2 Chargers @ 3.6 kw/ph and we charge 0.35p per kw/ph. The capacity of most batteries is 90KW and most batteries power to 80% which is 72KW. So on faster charge this will take up to 3 1/2 hours (72/22). We do ask drivers to pop in their registration numbers so if there are any issues we can pin point which charger they used immediately.

Adding Some Winter Colour

As we head into the colder months, flower beds can often start to look a little stark. Luckily, winter flowering pansies are a simple and reliable way to brighten up the Park on those darker days.

Ideally, we plant our pansy seeds in borders or pots during September and early October – this gives them a better chance to grow sturdy roots and flowers. The lingering warmth in the soil during this pre-winter period helps to support faster growth and will prepare our pansies for producing more flowers over winter.

A hardy species, winter pansies will flower for the majority of the winter season and into spring even when planted in late October or November.

Though they prefer sun, pansies also grow well in partial shade meaning that even in these darker months they will yield a display. However, it is worth noting that pansies planted later on are less likely to survive harsh winter weather because they have had less time to develop robust roots.

To lengthen the blooming period of our pansies, we will pinch out flower heads that have finished blooming to ensure that nutrients aren’t wasted. These removed heads will grow new buds, producing more flowers that will last for a longer period.

Pansies grow better in the sunshine so when we plant them we ensure that they’re facing the sun to help them thrive.

Winter flowering pansies are bred to withstand frosty temperatures, drooping during harsher conditions and rebounding when temperatures rise.

If properly planted and well cared for, winter pansies can last for three years or more.

The difference between winter pansies and summer varieties is that winter breeds are hardier to ensure they survive the colder conditions.

We are looking forward to seeing colour at the Park all the way through the Winter months.

A Beautiful Place to Work – Now with Amazing Facilities

David Cosby Chartered Surveyors were delighted to be instructed to assist with the planning and design of our new Gym, Cafe and Conference Centre at Blisworth Hill Farm Business Park.

We are very happy with the way the new facilities turned out and it is unbelievable we are coming up to the first anniversary of the Cafe opening in November 2019.

Of course 2020 has had its challenges with the Cafe and Gym having to close down during lockdowns but hopefully 2021 will see opportunities improve.

We want to offer our Tenants good safe facilities to enjoy whilst they are working and believe we do so. After all when you spend most of the day at work, why not have the best.

Second Lockdown Changes

With the second lockdown starting at 12.01am on Thursday, November 5 2020 the new lockdown restrictions will apply across England. The measures are currently expected to last for a four-week period, and the lockdown measures will then be reviewed on December 2, when it is hoped measures will be lifted.

This will mean, during those dates, that Briary Barn Gym will be closed. So none of this can be take place…..

It also means that you can no longer sit in these lovely surroundings at Briary Barn Cafe during those dates……

But the good news is that Dom and his team will still be offering their fabulous food as a takeaway service during this time so remember to take advantage of this!
