Blisworth Hill Properties Ltd. accepts its environmental responsibilities and recognises its obligations to contribute to the resolution of global and local environmental issues by reducing its environmental impacts and complying with environmental good practice. Therefore BHP Ltd will:

• Minimise the environmental impact of new buildings during their construction and use
• Improve staff environmental awareness and understanding
As part of this ongoing process, a water treatment plant has been established using reed bed technology. This takes all the foul water from the sewage treatment plant and processes it. The clean water is discharged into one of the lakes and is closely monitored.
In the newer builds, highly efficient heat recovery VRV systems have been installed. Not only does this technology have less of an impact on the climate than conventional heating and cooling systems it also directly benefits the tenant, in that it costs less to run.
In the immediate environment a wild meadow has been established and two barn owl boxes sited. This meadow is going to support a small herd of longhorn cattle, which will be organically reared, and the meat offered locally.
On some of the buildings, house martin and swallow boxes have been sited to ensure continuation of their nesting at Blisworth Hill Farm. The lakes have been a great success in providing a good environment for insects, which have fed the swallows and enabled them to successfully raise many clutches last year.
We have recently finished constructing our Lakeside walk, giving
staff and visitors to the business park an ideal opportunity for
fresh air and exercise.
